Center for Community Policing & Cultural Diversity

The School of Community Policing and Cultural Diversity was established at the Rhode Island Department of Public Safety-Municipal Police Academy in September of 2009 with grant funds received from the Office of Justice Programs of the Department of Justice.

The goal of the Municipal Police Training Academy’s School of Community Policing and Cultural Diversity is to improve relationships between a diverse Rhode Island community and their police, improve the professionalism of police and other justice system professionals and to ensure a smooth reintegration of deployed returning police reservists to their respective departments and the communities they serve.
